Long lectures and skill drills continue to give way to more engaging types of learning as educators strive to better prepare students for the 21st century learning skills needed in the competitive global marketplace. Project-Based Learning Systems helps schools organize and validate more dynamic types of learning by providing them a web-based management tool entitled Project Foundry. Project Foundry is a student and teacher centered set of tools that facilitates the process and incorporates state learning expectations. Currently used in 18 schools in seven states, Project Foundry recently received an endorsement from a nationally recognized educational cooperative out of Minnesota.

Ready Recipes is a recipe look-up service targeted towards the Gen X and 50+ supermarket customers using advanced and wireless technology. The market for this product are higher end grocers interested in providing customers with value added amenities that will increase buyer satisfaction, develop customer loyalty and increase sales.

Hartlawn Services, LLC provides general landscape maintenance for the exploding Lake County market in western Waukesha County, WI. From its humble beginnings when owner/founder Peter Walker pushed a lawn mower from house to house, Hartlawn has grown to become a large landscaping company with two operational crews and four equivalent full-time employees serving nearly sixty customers. Hartlawn has enjoyed sustained profitability and continued growth through excellent customer retention and strategic business acquisitions, including the asset purchase of competing Excelawn Landscape Maintenance, Inc.

Featured Keynote Speaker: Robert Zieserl

Mr. Zieserl is a managing director of KB Partners, an early stage venture capital firm with $100 million under management. He is also co-founder and general partner of Stratus Ventures, the sequel fund to KB Partners. Currently he serves on the boards of Mezzia, VeraxBiomedical and Vital Sensors, and is active in the Chief Executives Organization and the World Presidents Organization.
