2005 BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION WINNERS

Grand Prize ($12,000)
Vascular Prolifix
John LaDisa and Jeff Schmitt

Vascular Prolifix is dedicated to the development of novel technology for the treatment of vessel blockages in pediatric patients. These restrictions limit the supply of blood, oxygen and nutrients to vital organs in the body. Presently there are no FDA-approved stents specifically designed for children, but Vascular Prolifix is in the conceptual stages of developing the Pediabridge series of progressive diameter stents to address this clinical need. These devices are based on proprietary technology that enables staged stent enlargement for long-term treatment of blockages in children whose vessels change diameter over time, while also providing effective treatment for adult patients.
